| China Study Tour, Memorable moment, by Sonya Fuller.
I did not know much about China, the beautiful people, 'real chinese' food or history before I went on this tour, it was a real learning experience for me in so many ways. I studied the fundamentals of Chinese Acupunture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (the philosophy of the 5 elements) before I left, but never really knew that the Hospitals combine Eastern and Western Medicine and the Hospitals use massage as a main form of treatment.
Massage is done by the Doctors that work in the Hospitals ~ which was such a beautiful experience. The Hospital has different departments for Acupunture, Qi gong, Tuina~Massage & Cupping, Physiotherapy, Internal stomach disorders etc.., with a built in pharmacy providing both Eastern and Western medicine/herbs. There are no Chiropractors, Osteopaths or Physiotherapists, they are all qualified Doctors who choose fields they wish to specialize in for example Tuina & Qi gong or physio, manipulation, acupunture & Internal Disorders. There are 20 Million people in Beijing and I never saw them stressed out, angry or worried, they know this is not good for your health. There was no road rage, every one exercises daily and ride their bikes everywhere, and they believe in balancing the human body, these are memorable moments I will cherish.
I look forward to the day when the Doctors in Australia start to work with preventative medicine, when they embrace & become more open to Remedial & Therapeutic Massage, Acupunture, Exercise programs and Natural Therapies.
